The powerful iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

In the San Francisco event, as expected Apple unveiled the updated “S” version of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with an identical design and some new features.

iPhone 6S

Notable features are 3D touch and updated iSight camera. 3D Touch is a pressure-sensitive display. It allows you to pull up menus (sort of right click !!). And Apple upgraded iSight camera to 12 Mega Pixel from 8 Mega Pixel and Face Time camera also bumped to 5 Mega Pixel from 1.2 Mega Pixel. “megapixel” bumping is the first time since the iPhone 4S in 2011.

Still iPhone 6S lacks the one of the best features of smartphone cameras called Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). However 6S Plus sports OIS features for both photography and video recording. Moreover, when you use Face Time camera, iPhone display will function as flash which is a welcome feature. Taking Panorama photos also bumped up to 63 Mega Pixel from 43 Mega Pixel. Finally Apple brought the 4K video shooting feature for the rear camera.

Apple uses its latest A9 chip with 64-bit architecture to power the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. However iPad Pro sports with the A9X chip which is little advanced chip than A9. As usual no official information about the amount of RAM.

According to Apple, iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have faster wireless speeds over both WiFi and LTE. The touch ID also updated to second generation which will be faster and more accurate. Internal storage capacity of the new iPhones are 16GB, 64GB and 128GB

The latest iPhones will be available in Silver, Space grey, Gold and Rose gold colours.
